William Nicholls

Will has worked in the recycling industry since 2005, beginning his career in plastic recycling before founding Ecogen in 2010. What started on a small shared site in Winchester, Hampshire, quickly gathered momentum. By 2015, Ecogen had outgrown its first home and moved to a three acre facility in Alresford, before expanding again in 2020 to its current eight acre site in Kings Worthy, now comprising a 50,000 sq ft recycling facility.
Will provides hands on operational leadership while steering Ecogen’s strategic direction. His drive and determination have helped the company achieve consistent growth, operational maturity, and a multi million pound turnover. Beyond Ecogen, Will plays an active role in shaping the wider industry, serving on the Board of Directors of The Recycling Association and Independent Waste Paper Producers, where he contributes to policy, best practice, and the future of the UK recycling sector.
Will attributes the success of Ecogen to his amazing team, whose commitment, expertise, and energy ensure the company consistently delivers the best service to its customers.
Outside of work, Will is a keen (very inconsistent) golfer and squash player who enjoys time with his family, supported by his wife Megan and their two children — the team behind the scenes who keep him grounded and motivated.
